CCM - Comitato di Collaborazione Medica is an international NGO founded in 1968 in Turin, Italy by a group of doctors and specialized in the health sector. Its core mission is contributing to the development processes which safeguard and promote the right to health, by acting with an integrated approach on the health needs and by influencing the social-economical determinants. CCM aims at the improvement of health conditions of the population in low-income countries cooperating with the local communities and authorities and intervenes through projects of international cooperation, education to the world citizenship, advocacy activities and interventions of health promotion in the context of migration processes.
In Kenya CCM is working in Nairobi County (Starehe Sub County) with the Project“BORESHA MAISHA. Alternatives of life for street children and underage refugees In Nairobi”funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and implemented by the International NGOs CCM and GRT in partnership with the Starehe Sub County Children and Health Offices. The specific objective of the Project is to contribute to improve the psycho-physical wellbeing and the social inclusion of vulnerable children in Nairobi County by: (i) activating mechanisms of health and social protection, rehabilitation and community reintegration of street and refugee children from Mlango Kubwa and Eastleigh (ii) improving the quality of social and health services for vulnerable groups from Mlango Kubwa and Eastleigh (iii)increasing the awareness ofcommunities in Mlango Kubwa and Eastleigh on the issues of social and health need through the empowerment of street children and refugee minors (iv) enhancing the institutional skills in safeguarding the rights and improving the support to street children and refugee minors.

Main Responsibilities
- In collaboration with the SCHD, oversee the implementation of all primary health care activities conducted at facility and community level, including: epidemiological surveillance, Ante Natal Care (ANC), Maternal and Child Care (MCH), Out Patients consultations (OPD), Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), Health Education and community awareness, Laboratory services;
- In collaboration with the SCHD, ensure a constant support, technical assistance and supervision of CCM supported health facilities in the project area;
- In coordination with the SCHD, organize and conduct joint routine supervision and monitoring of the health facilities supported by the project in the area of intervention (Starehe sub County, Isiolo County);
- In close collaboration with the SCHD, support the proper data collection and reporting system, according to DHIS guidelines and tools;
- Work closely with the concerned SCHD to ensure: (i) the supportive supervision of health facilities, (ii) the registration of health data and related reporting at County level (DHIS), (iii) the promotion of community involvement/participation, (iv) the involvement and coordination of Community Health Units (CHU) and Community Health Committees (CHC);
- Support the partner health facilities in conducting outreach activities in the streets with the children and youth;
- In collaboration with SCHD and CCM International Medical Experts, organize and implement trainings and refreshment trainings for the local health staff, based on identified training needs and according to GOK trainings guidelines;
- In close collaboration with the SCHD, identify the training needs and support the institutional capacity building of local health authorities (Sub County Health Department-SCHD) and staff;
- In close collaboration with the SCHD and the CHU, promote a constant link between health services and the community, ensuring a continuous promotion of healthy practices across the target community with specific focus on refugee/street children and youth needs;
- Support the SCHD in training and supervising the Community Health Workers (CHW) to improve health awareness on behaviour of the communities in the project catchment areas, with specific focus on refugee, street children, youth and their families;
- In collaboration with SCHD, organize and promote raising awareness and sensitization campaigns on health prevention, healthy practices and access/utilization of primary health services;
- In collaboration with local authorities, build the capacities of CHC to improve community involvement on health-related issues;
- If required, participate in the conduction of need-assessments and/or surveys in the project catchment area and assist the project coordinator in the development of new project proposals;
- Actively collaborate with the project team for the timely and effective implementation of project activities;
- Prepare annual and monthly work plans as well as monthly progress reports, data activity and health services records to be promptly submitted to the Project Coordinator as per an agreed calendar;
- Prepare accounting records, inventory and asset register, monthly financial reports and budget requests, to be promptly submitted to the Project Coordinator for monthly requisition and liquidations;
- Actively attend monthly meetings with the project team;
- Ensure effective communication, mobilization and networking with other relevant organizations for referrals and support in the rescue, rehabilitation and reintegration of beneficiaries;
- Enhance project efficiency and effectiveness through implementation of follow-up activities with various stakeholders;
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Project Coordinator.

Profile Requirements
Qualifications
- Relevant BSC and/or academic qualification in health-related issues, such as clinical officer, registered nurse and midwife, Public Health or similar;
Main Requirements
At least 3 years of relevant work experience in the primary health care supervision activities (at least 2 with INGO);
Fluent in both oral and written English;
Basic IT skills;
Capable of working pro-actively and independently, while being an excellent team worker;
Experience in dealing with local authorities and collaborating with stakeholders;
Flexibility and willingness to work in informal settings.
Desirable Requirements
Short trainings on community mobilization, health community-based approach, etc.
Previous experience as trainer;
Knowledge of Mlango Kubwa area.
